Doctor Biography

Dr. Rokhsanda Rehnuma is a highly accomplished Uveitis Specialist and Phaco Surgeon in Bangladesh, currently practicing at Bangladesh Eye Hospital & Institute in both Dhanmondi and Zigatola branches. She is widely recognized for her expertise in managing complex ophthalmic conditions, particularly uveitis, ocular immunology, and advanced cataract surgery.

Dr. Rokhsanda completed her MBBS followed by a Diploma in Ophthalmology (DO) (Bangladesh Medical University) and FCPS in Ophthalmology from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). She further advanced her credentials with FICO (Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology), membership at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd), and the prestigious FRCS (Glasgow) in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

Her clinical training includes extensive, long-term fellowships in Phacoemulsification and Refractive Surgery, as well as Uveitis and Ocular Immunology at Bangladesh Eye Hospital & Institute. She also completed an observership in uveitis at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, India, where she trained under internationally renowned experts, including Professor Jyotirmay Biswas, Dr. Parthopratim Dutta Majumder, and Dr. Sudharshan Sridharan.

Dr. Rokhsanda has substantial experience in performing and managing complex cataract surgeries and is highly skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide range of ocular inflammatory diseases, including uveitis, scleritis, and immune-mediated eye disorders. She utilizes advanced treatment modalities such as intravitreal injections, immunosuppressive therapy, antiviral treatments, and biologics.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Rokhsanda serves as a Phaco trainer at Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital, where she has been actively involved in training ophthalmologists for several years.

She has received notable recognition for her contributions to ophthalmology, including:
