Doctor Biography

Dr. Mehjabin Haque is a dedicated glaucoma specialist and phaco surgeon, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Bangladesh Medical University (formerly BSMMU/PG Hospital), Dhaka.

She completed her M.B.B.S. from Bangladesh Medical College & Hospital (BMCH), Dhanmondi, Dhaka, in 2001. Following this, she underwent training in general surgery and later pursued specialized ophthalmology training at the National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital (NIO&H) and Bangladesh Medical University.

She joined the Department of Ophthalmology in 2011 and obtained her M.S. degree in Ophthalmology in 2012. To further advance her expertise, she completed a long-term Glaucoma Fellowship from the National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital in 2018.

Dr. Haque has actively participated in international training programs. She was selected for the Leadership Development Programme (LDP) under the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) in 2014. In 2018, she was awarded a scholarship to attend the APAO Glaucoma Workshop in Adelaide, Australia.

She has contributed to several scientific publications and regularly participates in both national and international conferences.

Dr. Haque is a life member of several professional organizations, including the Ophthalmological Society of Bangladesh (OSB), Bangladesh Academy of Ophthalmology (BAO), Bangladesh Glaucoma Society, and Bangladesh Uvea Society (BUS). She has also held various academic and organizational roles within these societies.
